Tornblad seminar: Methods to assess and mitigate re-identification risks when sharing research data
A part of the LUPOP / Tornblad seminar series on methodological issues in epidemiology and population research
Speaker: Gustav Nilsonne (Karolinska Institute)
Please note that this seminar will only be given online, and that registration is required.
Research data sharing is increasingly seen as a valuable practice and recommended/mandated by scientific journals and funders. However, personally identifying data pose particular challenges. In this talk, I will cover principles of data anonymization and methods to assess and mitigate re-identification risk. I will discuss risk assessment by threat modelling and various mitigation procedures, with a focus on practical methods that can be applied by working researchers.
